The new Ryan Field, developed by Northwestern University, is a state-of-the-art facility designed to replace the 97-year-old stadium. The new stadium will seat 35,000 people, and will create a more intimate and fan-focused environment. Designed with the community in mind, the stadium will include public plazas, green spaces, and year-round accessibility for non-football events like concerts and festivals. Sustainability and accessibility for people with mobility challenges is a major focus, with the facility designed to meet LEED Gold standards for environmental performance.

As the Owner Representative, Mathias Collective will play an integral role in ensuring that Northwestern’s goals of creating a world-class, fan-first experience and promoting community engagement are met. The project is designed to make Ryan Field one of the most accessible stadiums in the country, while also maintaining a strong commitment to Evanston’s economic growth. By integrating public spaces and reducing the overall footprint, Mathias Collective will ensure the project not only benefits Northwestern Athletics but also serves as a year-round hub for the local community.
